    Reclaim Systems????

I feel your pain. I had Coleman WW 1.0's and 2.0's and later installed a reclaim system. Here are two links for articles I wrote for Auto Laundry News that talks about the savings and the process involved in the new install. Let me know if you need any additional information...

Removing Gantry And All Equipment In-Bay From My Car Wash Tips and Tricks

Hey guys, Quick question. I need to pull all the in bay automatic equipment (Jim Coleman Water Wizard 1.0) from the wash I sold in January as the new owner is giving it to me as part of the deal. I looked at everything and most of it should be easy other than getting the gantry with the on-board...

How Much Is This Stuff Worth?

How Much Is This Stuff Worth?

I have been trying to sell a bunch of stuff from a car wash I needed to close after selling my more modern wash right down the road. I've posted it here on ACF, on Craigslist, and on Ebay. Obviously, I want too much for the equipment or it would have sold. The main items are a 6 bay Mark VII...

Competitor dropped his price to 50 cents.

No drop in gross. Lowered overall price by 50 cents for same amount of time, and lowered start to $1.00 for two minutes (previously $2.50 for 4 minutes). Spent about $125 for 4 banners to put over each bay and one out front stating new start price and left them up all summer.

Competitor dropped his price to 50 cents.

I had a new modern wash that I built in 2004 (that I sold in January). Recently, when someone bought the old wash a mile away and revamped it, I lowered my starting price to $1.00 for 4 min. instead of $2.50 for 4 minutes. Just to let the guy know I was there and that he would need to feel some...

    Charoal Filter Flow Direction

I am pretty sure down through center pipe up through charcoal bed that's why they have gravel in the bottom. I have some old notes from when I swapped out charcoal that I will look for. You might want to change charcoal while you are doing it.

I'm About to Sell. Final Thoughts?

Sold my in January and did OK but not 4.8X. My golf game actually got better because I am not on edge waiting for the phone to ring because someone lost a quarter. Best of luck. Curious though, if the new owner is in the business? The guy who bought mine owns 8 others and I am glad I did not...

    WW 1.0 prox counts

I don't think this is a setting. This is just to tell you how many counts you are getting. Typically fronts will be around 5 or 6 and rear counts could be anything I think around 60 to 80 depending on length of vehicle. It counts counting wheel prox from when eyes break to when they open.

    Catastrophic Power Surge

I had a similar situation with a lightning strike. My insurance paid for all including business interruption. If by chance yours does pay, make sure you check electronics in your floor heat boilers as well (if you have one). I missed this because it happened in summer and had to pay out of...

    new IBA help

I just sold my last wash. I am completely convinced that I would still be in the business if I would have bought more reliable equipment for my IBA's. I am not here to throw any mfg's "under the bus". Just make sure that you do a bunch of research in this area. I enjoyed the business but was not...

    Counting $$$

I would always bag my money in Hefty storage bags marked with Sharpies by Vacs, Entry Units (IBA's), Changer, Self Serves, Vending, etc.. Keep in mind I had bill acceptors in all these areas as well. I kept a spreadsheet with this breakdown and it came in handy when I would do price changes and...
