I will have to admit the first 6 months of owning my first wash in 2017 were the worst. I was a long-time aircraft technician which helped but knew nothing about self-serve washes. It just takes time to learn the systems and nothing is too hard once you know the theory of operation. This forum...
So I'm upgrading my bay wash mat station and need some advice. Installing new mat holders and want to use a fastener that will not get loose or fail over time. What are the best to use in this application? Thanks
This weekend in Oregon we should be able to test out our new Navien system we installed over the summer. The old Raypak from 1995 got too old and expensive to operate. Seems weird I'm looking forward to seeing it turn on this year.
So I bought some new mosmatic comfort hoses to try out for my foam brush hoses. Two of the bays have them. I see a big decrease in the amount of foam being delivered in those bays with these hoses as they are a smaller diameter. Anyone else experience this or are you using them just for high...
Just out of curiosity are you running the advanced analytics that you need to pay extra for? I find all the reports complete and can report on anything for a given date or range. I may be missing something in your post.
It's been 6 years years for me now. I only work one day a week now unless we have a significant breakdown. It has allowed me to quit my aviation corporate job of 32 years. I'll use it as income and an investment until the time is right or I can't do it anymore. Best choice I've ever made in my...
Went to the wash today and one pump was very noisy. Opened the fill cap and water got inside. The pump is running fine other than that. The new one won't be here until next week. Can I keep it in service??? Just don't know how they fail and if it will cause other issues. Thanks
I really don't know who makes the old ones but indeed they are mechanical and old. They don't die easy. I already changed one out with an IDX model and then started hearing about the problems. I'm happy with the Microcoin units in my bays.
I'm looking to upgrade all my older Doyle vacuum coin acceptors. I found one on Kleen rite and looking for confirmation on the fitment.

Does anyone know if these will work? Thanks, David
You might try the Southwest Car Wash Association. https://swcarwash.org/. We go through the Western version. We just got our quote back it has doubled from last year due to all the vandalism and claims at washes. That's what I was told anyways. Either way sucks and prices may need to go up to...
I thought this would be a good idea myself until I have had one bay out the past two weeks only taking cards. The number of cars that pulled back out and into another bay was surprising. I feel it is all about your demographics and is site-specific. For ours, it will be a long time before I make...
I'm in the same boat, Randy. I received a notice about two months ago and still waiting on WCA to send me a new quote. Not one claim in years. I'm almost afraid to open the email once I receive it for the new policy. It may be time for another price bump.
So I wanted to follow up on what I found with my coin vault. It appears 25 years of dust and grime was the problem. I bought a 3-inch pellet stove pipe brush and cut the diameter to fit my coin pipe. After that used a snake with a rag dipped in Pledge to finish it off. Coins drop like a rock...
Ok so today I spent more time trying to understand the chute system
Randy, It appears the tube size is 1 3/4. This is the best picture I could take with my cheap camera. It appears the coins are just getting hung up on rough surfaces. No breaks are found. The picture shown is from the top down...
Randy,
I'll be by the wash tomorrow and check the inside diameter. Part of the problem is the camera I bought is pretty cheap and can't see it really good.
Over the past two weeks, something has changed with one of my coin chutes in one bay. The quarters are not dropping from the meter box to the vault. Just a few get caught up and cause a blockage over time. I can see the area with a snake camera, but getting to it will prove difficult. I saw this...
Thanks, just might do that. I did find some odd tap charges on one day in June. I looked in my Analytic section, purchases by device. Along with my bays and vacs there is an entry that says TapRdr for $32 bucks. It only appears on two days out of the month of June. I'll call them on Monday and...
