It's 70ppm which is about 6 grains per gallon. So that's considered only moderately high... I should have clarified that.

What causes such a high TDS? Could it be old pipes or cast iron pipes vs copper? Or is it just the city water and that's what it is? How do I get it down? Do I need an RO system, Spot Free rinse or a deionizer? Don't won't to spend a ton of money only to find out it doesn't make a difference...
