Good idea is to go with the a card / PC combination that is sure to work. Unfortunately I bought the PC first and then looked at the card. Big mistake. I had to change the card 3 times and the motherboard twice before it worked. A lot of manufacturer get the specs right on paper but your are left with pain-in-the-butt software. I use a Geovision card but that might be a bit too pricey. http://www.geovision.com.tw/upload/en/Datasheet_DVR83_all.pdf . I only chose it because I heard very good things about it and I was sick of experimenting. I had wasted about $500 dollars on cards and a motherboard earlier. Aargh!
