Or cheaper plating on the fittings. We do not use KR or Mosmatic swivels. We are using stainless ones from Car Wash Superstore, which I can't find on their website anymore, and thought they were rebranded JE Adams. I have never rebuilt any, but I do notice in one of our bays that under high pressure, one doesn't swivel like it used to.
Correct. I misunderstood, I thought in the earlier thread you stated you use cheaper KR swivels, I assumed that was on the Mosmatic hose ends. I might call KR today and see what I can learn from them. I didn't think much of this until I noticed a couple Mosmatic hoses kinking which got me to investigate. No doubt, the JE Adams swivels are the culprit, just need to find a replacement.

Is this the stainless steel swivel you are referring to https://www.carwashsuperstore.com/c.../cws-stainless-steel-3-8-high-pressure-swivel

The same swivel is on the KR web site https://www.kleen-ritecorp.com/p-15...-steel-swivel-3-8in-m-x-3-8in-f-5000-psi.aspx

I am showing the fitting that comes crimped on the Mosmatic hose. I took another one off today and it looks the same as these do, rusty in color. I know most of the fittings I use are of those that come from Kleen Rite or Windtrax however, I've never had any rust this bad in such a short period of time. I would be curious what the insides of your Mosmatic connectors look like the next time you have one apart. Thx for the swivel info, hopefully that will take care of my problem with kinking. I suppose I need to put one at the boom and at the wand? Thx
Now I see what your showing the inside of the hose end. My crimped on hose ends look like that after a while and so do the reusable hose ends.

You should try a ball bearing swivel, that's all we use.

Yes those are essentially the same thing I have now. They are too stiff under pressure contributing to the kink in the Mosmatic hoses. Kleen Rite (Dave) told me to try model SWV38ss or SW0260. He thought the SWV38ss would work but in looking at it, I'm not certain. I really didn't want to spend $30 on the SW0260's. I might get by with the SW0260 at the gun and use what I have now which is the 7080 or 7044 JE Adams at the boom. As far as the corrosion, he sent me to Customer service and they sent my pic to Mosmatic. If they come back and blame the water, I am requesting for Mosmatic to let KR know just what is it they are looking for in the water report, so we'll see what they come back with. I may have to try a couple different swivels unless you have one you would prefer I try first. Thx

There was someone experimenting with Amazon HP swivels, wonder how those are doing. Seem to have good reviews on Amazon. That was in the same thread we were discussing the HP swivels not swiveling under pressure, even brands that historically swiveled under pressure.

OK. I will see if I can find that. Thanks

Are you running presoak and/or tire cleaner through the wand? If so, I'm sure that's what the corrosion is from.

All chemicals go thru the gun but as you mentioned, water is the last liquid that goes thru the gun. I just know my other steel fittings throughout the carwash do corrode but it takes them a long time. I would venture to believe Mosmatic is using cheaper iron.

If you take the sticker off of the SW0260 swivel you have a SWV500 swivel, there both the same swivel, one has a sticker and the other one doesn't. We had 2 swivels on our hoses, one up on the boom and one at the gun. The corrosion on the inside of the hose fitting is called RUST! you get that when you have water and steel. There's probably nothing that can be done to stop it short of using a stainless steel fittings on the hose.

Well, I contacted Kleen Rite this morning and I was informed the SWV500 does NOT contain ball bearings like the Fluid Controls 504A fitting. Does this sound right to you? Thanks
