Honest opinion

Wait, I must be reading this incorrectly. The closest tunnel is an hour and a half away?!?
That’s pretty far but what does that have to do with which format you choose?
The sales guy says the tunnel would have more responsibility and should be maned when operating, he says the IBA are more self sufficient and less stressful lol

good day , i am looking at build a car wash facility, my thought is 2 IBa (1 friction and 1 not ) 3 self serve and an extra bay for detailing , have a Great location at the main intersection into town with 12000-15000 cars a day , with a surrounding population of 30000ish , but also the main hub of the area, right now there are 2 gas station iba that i would guess on average 1 or both are broke down 1/2 of the month at a time . Research i have done so far shows this is a good set up and being that i would have the monopoly on it, project cost seem to be coming in at $4mil., and calculation show me needing 130 cars a day minimum to be successful, in your experience are these somewhat close ?thanks in advance , derek
How do you get to 4Mil with 2 IBAs & 3 SSs? That's going to be hard sell to a lender as well. If you're willing to relocate, I can get you in at half that and it's turnkey.

He’s right about more labor but you’ll still get plenty of stress!

One of the things I have come to appreciate operating a tunnel is that there is not too much that can stop me from washing cars. If a brush or mitter motor goes or one pump quits or some high pressure is not working , I have enough redundancy to keep washing. Just about the only thing I can’t wash without is the conveyor. A lot of my IBA colleagues have to shut down if the bridge or gantry has an issue or the arch doesn’t rotate or if a presoak pump fails or if a hose breaks. They are done washing until the problem is fixed.
