Crypto pay or Nayax? I need to upgrade the credit card system and am having trouble deciding.

Blanco who do you use now?

I am about to tear out our cantaloupe swipers and am looking at options.

I've had Cryptopay on one of our IBA for years and I just haven't been impressed. Even a new swiper takes a couple swipes to get it to read a card. Add to that having to buy the tap option separate, $900+ per bay just seems crazy. Not to mention the headaches WorldPay has given me over the years.

I have been looking at Monex and Nayax but now I don't know what to do. I see horror stories for both of them. I just called Nayax tech support to get an idea of service and after 23 minutes on hold an Indian woman answered so that's not looking good. Monex was 9 minutes.

I have 3 locations with a total of: 15 SS bays, 20 vacs, 3 IBA's.

I was wondering also if anyone has put a credit card reader on their bill changer so that I wouldn't have to add readers to every vacuum.
I’ve had Nayax, Monex and Cryptopay. Now I’m all Cryptopay in all bays (38 bays) and vacs (30 vacs) My IBA’s are not, as the Hamilton Commanders do not support them. That being said, Cryptopay has been the easiest and most straight forward. Also nice you can decide the pre authorization amount you want vs Nayax and Monex requiring maximum hold (This is if you’re count-up, count down not a problem with those two) Not to mention Cryptopays excellent customer support. I have both the swiper and tap + at all meter doors, but am thinking of removing the swipers and just doing tap, as 90% of my customers tap. I figure if I remove the swipers, the other 10% won’t have an issue with this..
As far as Vac, I do count up with that as well (Dixmore Led 7 timers on all vacs) with the Cryptopay and average double than cash customers. I’d skip adding to a token dispenser and add to each vac. It’ll pay for itself over time and increase profits.

I went back to Cryptopay. $750 per bay with swipe and tap or you can do $500 per bay with the tap plus. If It were not for my fleet accounts I would have just done tap plus. There is no better and bullet proof readers then Cryptopay. I agree with the swipe not accepting easily but there are too many variables including the way customers swipe the card and also the condition of the strip on the cards. 90% of my customers now tap anyway.

Smart move on calling tech support. Same thing I did when choosing a soft cloth IBA years ago. The Indian at the end of the line that reads prompts is what you get with Nayax. That’s what happens when your a global fin whatever company 🤣 Nayax car wash business is probably 1% of there other industries. These are readers made for vending machines, hospitals, and climate controlled environments. Then they entered the car wash market. They were not made for the car wash market. If you look at both Nayax and Cryptopay it’s not hard to tell which one is completely sealed and waterproof. That’s why people cover there Nayax when there in bays.

I went with Nayax blindly on 20 some vacs and I currently have a 5 gallon bucket filled up with those readers. I assure you it’s not because “they aren’t set up correctly” or because I throughly enjoy throwing away my money.

The durability and reliability of crypto pay alone with great tech support and a super easy to use website made it an easy choice for me to switch back.

People put covers on Nayax readers because water hitting the touchscreen will end the transaction.

That is one little reason. The main reason they put them over is to make them waterproof. Without the guard they are only weather resistant. That is why they only have an IP rating of 55.

I've never had any weather or water intrusion issues with my Nayax readers. I had a few issues with water hitting the screen and turning off the meter, but I had Nayax disable the little red X on the screen since I have external stop buttons. Once this change was made, I never had any issues with them being uncovered.

Thanks,
Lighthouse
