Hi, I see a lot of comments about Credit Card usage, as in thinking about adding CCards etc.. We have been taking CCards for 7 years now.. No Coins or Tokens.. CCards in all Bays and Vacs.. Bills acceptors in all Bays and Vacs.. Count up.. CCard usage is 70+% of revenue.. for those doubters about getting rid of Coins here is a Crédit Card report for the month of June thru the 26th of this month.. Just a suggestion on how to increase Revenue.. This report does not reflect cash..

Purchase TypeAmount
Wash Bay$20,864.98
Vac$9,201.50
Vend$204.00
Total:$30,270.48

I mean, it might work with whatever demographics you have but I'm like 80-85% cash, pretty sure it wouldn't work for me. Half the time I see someone swipe at my car wash cryptopay denies them cuz they don't got enough in their account.

CWB where are you located? We are in a smallish rural town of Texas. We have credit card and cash acceptors in all bays (not on vacs though). We have been doing so for about 1.5 years now. Our credit card usage on the bays is about 25%. I'd love to see 50% or greater, but when given a choice our customers still want to use coins and dollars for the majority of their transactions. I guess if got rid of coins it might change. $20K in washes in one month? $20K is very impressive. Hat's off to you!

Thanks, we work at it and we are located in Central Oregon.. Are you count up on Credit/Debit? When we went from count down to count up, WOW, maybe 50% or better increase in revenue.. Advertise BIG you take CCards.. 75% + is our CC percentage and growing.. Most likely many don't really realize SS car washes would take CC's.. Come on, SS Car Washes are Coin Synonymous.. Coins/Tokens are a PAIN, they slow things down (this is 2022) and it's a hassle for both parties. We have had many customers tell us they think coins are a Pain is the Ass so to speak.. If you want to make more MONEY, get rid of Coins... Do you like Coins???????????? Be Honest....... :) :) We would love to hear your rebuttals.. The first rebuttal will probably be the famous "that won't work for me, my customers are different" which is totally false.. 🙂

And I'll be the first one to use that rebuttal. I do plan on adding CC acceptance at some point, but my customers don't have credit cards and don't like using debit cards. There's a wash pretty close to mine that takes cards, and he says they're barely 10% of his income. It took two years for the upgrade to pay off. If you really believe there's only one type of customer and there aren't varying demographics, you're truly a fool. Kindly stop trolling this same BS.

If you are friendly with any local Gasoline retailers ask what percentage of purchases are CC and how those percentages have changed in the last couple of years. That info along with the count up incentive will give you an idea if you should add CC for your demographic.

Have they changed any because of all the CC skimmer reports out there? Most people I know are spreading the word that you should go inside the store and pay cash for gas (Or were before gas prices went up).

I would bet 80% of the customers that cross your driveway have a card.. Here is a sample of CC usage in our bays in just a few hours.

$50 worth of car washing at 12:41am? That seems very strange…

Also, please remove these peoples names from your post. That’s not cool at all.

It's not Strange, It's Normal, we get many charges over $25 all the time.. We average $10.46 per CC Customer in the bays.. Vacs average $5.05 per customer.. What names do you mean to remove? Just replies is all..

Agree with Mchas. Very unprofessional to post a list of customer names and last 4 of CC number along with their transactions on a public forum.
