    Another “incident”

Pdq g5 Bay had a high bus voltage fault to the Vfd drive which ended the wash early. She panicked and waited all of 5 seconds before pulling forward and pushing into the door and bowing it out which jammed it in place. Then about 5-10 seconds later she said F it and drove right through it! turns...

    Extra Air compressor

We added a spare last year and within several months our main unit failed completely and it took almost 3 weeks to figure out if it was worth repairing and then deciding to replace it and have the new one shipped. So YES, a backup compressor is necessary! We now have virtually the same setup as...

    Ring Doorbell

We recently purchased a logitech “Circle” camera which has a 180° viewing angle. It does not have the ring capability for a person to ring you, but it has to way communications and that may be an option for somebody who wants to be able to speak to a customer without having the customer able to...

    Unattended tunnel incident

I tend to agree with you but if you read the original post you’ll see that I don’t actually own the car wash and the decisions not really mine overall. Being in a really small market it works for us, but it definitely would not be something that could be replicated in a larger market. This...

I am armed while at my car wash

I find that car washes tend to be highly attractive to drug dealers. High traffic and it doesn’t look out of the ordinary to have someone pull in and sit at the vacs for a while until their customer pulls in. We see it at my laconia wash all the time. I make a point of going out to those vacs...

I am armed while at my car wash

Be very very careful with what you are doing by brandishing a firearm without the intent to use it. Research ward bird in nh. He was at home down a long driveway with lots of signs saying do not trespass and turn around etc.... someone drove down his driveway and he went onto the porch and...

    Unattended tunnel incident

A follow up to this post, the customer had mmg insurance out of maine and they were great! They took responsibility quickly and paid in full 100%! They didnt even try to argue depreciation, or lost business. I was expecting them to only pay for lost PROFIT not the whole income But they did. They...

I am armed while at my car wash

I carry, but then again i am in nh and EVERYONE carries up here. We have experienced theft and vandalism issues and even though there is very little, in fact no cash accessible to employees, shitty people dont know that and i dont want to walk out the door to someone looking to rob me. I would...

Door handles/locks that stand up to overspray.

We have several doors inside of our wash tunnels that constantly have overspray on them and as a result the locks on the door handles eventually freeze up. Does anyone else have this problem? and if so what have you done to solve it?

Shoes that stand up to car washes??

Thanks for the feedback, and while we are on the subject of clothes, I want to buy the employees good winter jackets this year but they prep cars in the tunnel all day long so will be wet a lot of the time and need to withstand the same conditions as the shoes do. What does everyone else use...

    Pit/sand trap cleaning

Due to a disagreement with the company that pumps our tunnel pit and automatic sand traps last year i have to find a new route to getting this job done. Im curious what everyone else does with this material? If you remove it yourself where do you dump it? And if you have someone else do it who...

Shoes that stand up to car washes??

Has anyone ever tried to warranty return/repair shoes before? I know ll bean for example is 1 year, but would that cover the sole seperating from the shoe? Which is what happens to my current shoes, im assuming from the glue disolving, or do they prorate returns? Or do they repair them? Is it...

Shoes that stand up to car washes??

Glad I’m not the only one having shoe issues.... lol. I just can’t see myself having any luck with a suede leather. I have been buying Walmart brand hiking boots, Ozark trail all leather. But they changed the style to a leather mesh now that’s not as good. I used to buy those because at 3 pairs...

Shoes that stand up to car washes??

Does anyone else have issues with their shoes wearing out quick from working in a corrosive environment like the car washes?? Mine seem to last about 4/6 months before the glue holding the soles on fails and the wash chemicals even start to eat away the leather material. Does anyone else deal...

kleen rite self serve bay simoniz hot wax systems

so kleen rite is now selling self serve bay set ups for hot wax. i am wondering how smart it is to add that product to the self serve bays currently. it is an expensive product and without a second timer you couldnt charge more for it, and if it is available in self serve whats the draw to go...

    Unattended tunnel incident

I dont own the wash, but yes we have figured that number out. I think it is less then 200 cars per year use it after 11p/12a. But without it being open unattended i would have to keep attendants there until 7/8pm because we get a lot of customers that come through after 5pm on their way home...
