    Hamilton Goldline IDTech upgrade doors

I agree with you, the IDTech are much nicer and better than the previous ingeniconunits which we tried a long time ago. Our GL doors are new (retrofit upgrade) and came with new controllers. When at the wash yesterday I checked the door setup. Our Profile which is having most of the issues...

    Hamilton Goldline IDTech upgrade doors

good questions. No canopy and we do not close the doors unless the temps are going to be low (below 45). That said the paystations are not wet and I never see water on them. Maybe we should install a canopy but frankly we should not need to spend another $10K per paystation so the cc reader...

    Hamilton Goldline IDTech upgrade doors

So last week I installed our sixth IDTech CC reader associated with new Hamilton Retrofit/Upgrade doors on our Goldlnes - IN LESS THAN A YEAR. Yesterday that replacement unit permanently went south with the dreaded TAMPERED message (in less than one week!). I know it was not tampered, it is...

    CAT310 pump

Just a brief update. I bit the bullet and did a complete seal kit and valve replacement on my most used CAT310s. Solved all issues and pumps run like new. Expensive but easy to do.

So what would you do (self serve bay abuse)

Get a WheelBarrow Vac. Makes cleaning the mud like vacuuming the house. If small amount then just shovel. If a large amount the vac on wheel barrow works great. They are a bit pricey but now available from KR We primarily use the vac on our pits...

Hank is filled with those sayings.

    Washworld Speaker

Yup, those speakers were about $150 a few years ago. Now significantly higher in price. Pick your excuse (covid, tariffs, labor costs, gas prices) - we just need to adjust to the new normal. Having the speaker is a huge plus in terms of the customer experience, unfortunately they only seem to...

Unexpectedly high water bill, has anyone seen meter over report due to air in the line?

Never seen or heard of such an issue. I do read about many towns significantly raising their water and sewer rates - often at a higher percentage on high use business customers like car washes.

So what would you do (self serve bay abuse)

When I walk around the wash I have a pocket full of tokens. If I see a customer that looks to become a muddy bay I offer them a few tokens with the ask that they spray down the bay when they are done. 9 times out of 10 it achieves my goal and builds some goodwill, plus many times they say the...

    Adjusted Sewer Rates

Check with your town before you spend too much on the sewer meter. Many towns do not care if you have a meter on the sewer line as they will just use the water usage number regardless. Policy is what we were told.

Hamilton HTK need upgrade or CC won't work starting June 17

The Hamilton DAN system uses Windows 10 too. We had to upgrade our DAN from version 7 to 10 last year. Just a heads up that the IDTech cc reader has some issues too. You will need to have some patience and check the machines regularly. We upgraded our two Goldlines to new doors to get...

    Equipment Room Dream

Interesting that in the UK most IBA car washes do not have walls or roofs.

    CryptoPay and ShurVend

We have a tap plus on our Mega Vendor. Good question. Never tested it but seems to work great. Not one customer complaint about a charge for a product not received.

    Remote plug

I hear and understand the issue. Depends on the WiFi box. Original design was definitely an issue but many of the new models have a rocker on/off switch so it will come back to life after losing power. Ours does so when power company has an issue and we lose power. If his WiFi is built into...

    Remote plug

You can find various WiFi socket plugs at Home Depot. We used them until installing a hard wired solution from Lutron. We use A hard wired switch to control our outside lights that are on a photo eye.

    Remote plug

Some internet providers allow you to reboot a router remotely via their app. May be more reliable approach if a available to you.

    Credit card processing

Tap Plus has been the best from our experience. I just removed Comcast for internet as they have doubled in cost from the day we installed them and we were losing service way too often. It was a wired line under ground so that was just unacceptable when paying $200/month. We now use a...

    Cat310 Pressure Drop

Curious how your reading was consistent with trigger pulled. Not familiar with JC’s system. An 08 on our KleenRite system would show a drop of 300-350psi from not pulled handle to the pulled handle psi. A tip of 05 is usually a drop of 100-150 psi. Awhile back I ran an experiment with...

Hamilton and IClean dog wash tubs

You can get a Hamilton goldline with CryptoPay from Kleen rite. If you want to use the Hamilton app (which we have) you need to use their IDTech cc reader. There are pros and cons for both approaches. Really depends on what is most important for you. I will never use a NAYAX cc reader ever...

Time to hire a General Manager?

I am in the same boat. Wife is retiring and I am looking to scale back (or sell). Would like the first avenue but will entertain both. Hard to find competent people with a good head on their shoulders. Best people I have met have been trained and mentored by the owner for at least 6 months...
