Hello - Just saw that WW speaker replacement is 600.00 cost less labor? Does that sound about right? Are there any alternatives people have used in the past for the Washworld units?
They are stupidly expensive
The company that makes them have been at the ica show for the last two years. Not sure if you can buy one direct from them
I have several speakers
They quit working - replace and put the old one in the attic for the summer
Let it dry out and use it again the next time.
Yes I was shocked when I replaced my speaker after about a year and a half. I tried to take it apart and investigate it but it seemed impossible to get apart as I recall. I would've had to destroy it I think to see what was inside. I just bit the bullet and ordered a new one because I love the speaker and the announcements for the customers.
Just so you know, as of last year, Floyd Bell doesn't offer the pre-recorded voices anymore. You need to get a speaker from your machine manufacturer or record them yourself.
Yup, those speakers were about $150 a few years ago. Now significantly higher in price. Pick your excuse (covid, tariffs, labor costs, gas prices) - we just need to adjust to the new normal. Having the speaker is a huge plus in terms of the customer experience, unfortunately they only seem to last about 5 years due to the environment they are in and probably reduction in the quality of parts used.
