Over the years after trying & using litterally every brand and model known to man of coin acceptors I have been running Microcoin QL acceptors and have been happy with them but at $320 a pop now i dont know if thats reasonable. Who do you guys get to repair them. Thanks alot Thomas

Holy cow, $399 at KR now! Still $325 at carwashsuperstore

Just talked to Adam. Sounds like a nice guy. They charge a flat $45 labor charge plus parts, If it is not repairable they will give you the opportunity to replace the insert at a discounted price.

NCS has it for $229, don't know if thats the whole unit or just the insert though.

I was just as sticker shocked as you though when I needed a few more for some vacs about a month back. Luckily, I found some functional ones at one of the washes we bought.

If anyone comes back to this, I purchased some from NCS, it is the whole kit - frame, insert, and val unit.

Looks like NCS is the main distributor in USA now after they bought out Hi-Pressure Systems.

I am surprised NCS bought them as they have been focused on the tunnel market from day 1 in the Carolinas after buying and closing one of the best self serve manufacturer's in the country microcoin would be a drop in the bucket after seeing them seek & destroy and waste a major company in the Self Serve US market nothing surprises me anymore, but it ain't nothing but money right.

Thanks for the info. I just went to their website to order some, but the shipping cost makes no sense. For one acceptor, it’s $34 shipping. For 2 acceptors it’s $68 shipping. For 3 acceptors it’s $102. It looks like it takes the single unit shopping cost and multiples it by the number of units. Why wouldn’t they just put all 3 in the same box and charge less for shipping? Did you have the same experience?

I got free shipping, not sure why, but am thinking because my order was over a certain dollar amount. It was about $1,000 total order. I ordered 4-5 units at once

I tried Slugbusters first and then IDX MA 800's and 850's over the past 20 years. They've been tolerable at best (for me.) About 5 or 6 years ago we tried the MicroCoin QL and never looked back. I look at coin and credit card acceptors as literal funnels that roll money into the bank account. When I drive up to one of my washes and discover a jam, I just wonder how much was lost in sales, customer perception, and repair costs from people trying to clear the obstruction.
The difference between MicroCoin and the others is what $100 to $200?
It blows me away how some of the operators around me will buy balloons, banners, and advertising for thousands of dollars and try to cheapscrew one of the most important aspects of the operation.

Interesting. When I add 5 to my cart, the shipping cost is $171. Crazy. I’ll contact them and see what the issue is.

Did you figure out the shipping situation?
I contacted them and they said they are having that problem with some of the items on their website. Their solution was for me to place the order and they would manually refund the difference, or to create an account (not via website but like a corporate account) and they could calculate the correct shipping prior to placing the order.

But then the sales person sent me a different part number and price than the one from the website. So now they had to ask their purchasing dept what the difference was between the two parts and why they cost different amounts ($276 vs $228). Waiting to hear back before I place the order.

(I also asked about the possibility of free shipping if I ordered a larger quantity and they claimed they don’t do that. I mentioned that I heard someone else got free shipping and they said you must have got lucky!)

Wow, good luck, seems like they have some internal issues. I just ordered directly from the website, the $229 one.

I'll consider myself lucky, that was my first and only order with NCS so far, so no idea how their shipping works at all. Seems like they may not know themselves haha

Keep us posted
