WW2 Manual mode not working.

Hello everyone, thanks for all the help i received so far but ran into another problem and can't find anything related to it in the forum.

Currently the Boom Ct Prox A is off (04 input 2008) and Boom Safety Switch (08 input 2010) is on, so i guess the Boom position is off. However, none of the manual controls are working and have no idea how to physically lower the boom.

I am seeing input on the Gantry Input 2008 with the Jog Enable Switch and yellow buttons, but the Yaskawa GPD are displaying 55, 40 and 60 regardless of pressing any of the manual control buttons nor anything happening.

After cross checking through the manual, the status of all the other inputs do appear normal though.

Thank you.

I do not have a WW2.0. But I have had similar problems with the boom not lowering when I had safety eye problems with my WW 1.0. In essence, the boom will not lower because it thinks there is a car breaking the eye. Worth checking anyway.

Did you use the manual to double check that all of the lights on the gantry cards are lit or not lit as per the manual? Some of the lights are conditional, i.e. they are on or off depending on whether or not a prox or eye is sensing an object. I made laminated cards (copies of the manual section for each input) that I leave in my gantry panel and ECC that show which lights should be on or off. They are handy cheat sheets. Is your toggle switch that enables manual overide defective?

Thanks for the help Buzzie8 and Reds.

The situation got even worse. Restarting made the red lion display go blank, and accessing through remotely says all my tanks are empty and 3 phase power not available. Found out it was all because i replaced my measurement eye with an old faulty one which somehow caused my whole system to malfunction.

Now i'm back to the measurement eye not off at start of wash problem. The input for the measurement eye is constantly on even removing the telco eye. Removing the connecting input purple wire does remove the on light, as well as either the purple or black wire in the junction box. I'm guessing it's a cable problem, but i have no idea what to do next and no clue how the cabling or telco eye system works.

Any sort help would be really appreciated as i'm just stabbing around in the dark with everything right now.

Cable problem, Input Card Problem, Also, could be amplifier.

Thanks. I think narrowed it down to a cable problem. The 0 input light starts responding when i switch the black wires in the junction box (which from a different set of telco eyes).

Looks like i'll have to go around and hunt for a new cable tomorrow. Can someone tell me what cable in after or what the yellow 6 pin connector that plugs in the telco eye called?

Any my apologies if i'm asking ridiculous questions. I never learned any of this knowledge when the machines where installed.

Do you have a spare cable? (I keep cables on hand for proxes and eyes). If so, run a new cable from the eye, route it outside the gantry, connect to input card, and see if the problem goes away. If it does your cable is bad and you can then route the cable on the correct path thru the gantry frame and into the cabinet. That's how I test my prox and eye cables before rerouting the wires/cables. Some of the cables go thru conduits and are difficult to remove and feed new ones thru. First I replace the eye with a spare that I keep on hand. Then if that doesn't work I try my spare cable. Then look further at the card, etc.

I will add that I have had those cables go bad quite a bit-probably more cable problems than eye problems. The problem usually lies in the cable head. I keep at least one spare cable on my truck. Coleman has switched to an eye without the connector, but a long cable. If you are in a pinch and can't find a cable you can cut and splice both eye and cable, solder and seal, and get the unit back back to washing cars. You could also possibly "borrow" from the undercarriage eye.

Oh, and good work on the description and photos! Most people just post and say "Hey my boom won't move- What's wrong?" You're doing a fine job troubleshooting.....

Just ordered the cable from a JC distributor in another state. Not sure when it'll arrive but sure hope it works.

Will keep this thread updated.

Thank you.

After days chasing the courier company since they delivered to the wrong address, finally got my cable, switched it out and now IT WORKS!

Once again, thank you everyone for all the help!

Obvius Wiring Problems

hello, I hope you fix you problem with this:I can see in your picture that you problem is the Floating wires not being conected to (+) positive terminal block, so it causes the signal to stay on,since these type of sensor are NPN(Switch Negative)if you leave the the floating wires disconected the transistor it would stay on and the relay would keep sending the signal to Input Card(SRT2-ID16,NPN Input)so Coleman did this mistake and not evryone got this information until they get this types of failure basically one of the called Factory Defect.Remedie all floating wires need to be conected to Positive terminal Block(brown terminal Blocks)except the black wire(transmitter), already fix several times this problem with several of my customers.....Wish You Luck!!
