Worldpay B.S Charges

For years now, I learned to d/l my cc statements as most processors are scammers will will randomly add fees. I have come across this several times with World Pay and they are by far the worst offender. Usually after hours of trying, I have luck getting the extra fees removed, but not always. I use them for Cryptopay and so far other than a one time $199 fee that they reversed, no issues in the past year. For my IBA account though, it's at least 1 to 2 times per year they add stuff. They just added a $199 fee there that I was promised wouldn't happen, and after 3 weeks of back and forth they removed it. Now I see this:

anyone else have these added charges? I have not called them yet as I dont' have 2 hours to spare right now. Worst part is I just realized they have been adding those charges for the past 4 months, but I missed them as I was just looking for large recurring fees. What they are charging with this "risk fee" is over 2.5% on top of all other fees.

My guess would be they're charging you for not being in PCI compliance. That would be the $199 charge you've been disputing. So now they're charging you separately for American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa. PCI compliance is voluntary, and from what Cryptopay has told me their hardware is 100% in compliance because of the way it encrypts the data it sends out.

FWIW I've heard from others using Worldpay on a Hamilton Goldline on dialup that they're getting charged $199 a year, but dialup processing is zero risk of being intercepted and doesn't need to comply in any way.

That would make sense, but the risk charges started 3 months before the $199 fee, and I am in compliance. I make sure my annual questionnaire is done, scans are quarterly and pass, and I attest every one. They already charge me a $14.95 Omni Shield Assure fee that I was not able to get out of from years ago.

Good info to know

Turns out they had mentioned the charges in an earlier statement, but I missed it as I was just looking at the charges. Guess I should read the notes too from now on. Either way, seems all my card present transactions are "risky" so my charges per month have doubled.

Have you contacted cryptopay and let them deal with this? I thought they had a deal worked out with worldpay to avoid this kind of crap.
