getting ready to pull the trigger on changing over to high security tokens from tokens direct. will be using microcoin ql acceptors in bays & vacs. i don’t know which size would be better to go with between .985 & 1.074. any input from the token users as to which to choose and why would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

You might want to decide what size based on how you plan to sort them. A lot of counters can "off-sort" by size, meaning if you dump coins of different sizes in to count, you start by counting the larger coin and the smaller one gets kicked out the side chute. If you'll be mostly counting quarters, it will take you less time to count with a token smaller than a quarter.
FWIW I mix tokens into the changer with the quarters, I don't sort anything, I just dump them all back into the changer. .984 tokens work perfectly for that.

Before you get too excited about selecting a token gather up every token within 50 miles of your car wash. Then call a couple of token manufactures and request samples, I wouldn’t waste my time with a cheap brass token, there are too many around. Tokens Direct tokens are primarily brass tokens, Hoffman mint has a few tokens that are sort of secure. I think the best token would be a 1.074 CTX token from Van brook, https://vanbrooktokens.com/tokens1.htm a larger token in the customers hand gives the customer a feeling that they getting a value with the larger token. We’ve been using the same token since 1995. We have lost a lot of tokens over the years. When you reorder more tokens always take a handful from every batch and check them in your bays, we have found that sometimes a new token will look the same but it will have a slightly different metal alloy and have different electronic ring to it and it won’t work in your coin acceptor.
