Which paint to use?

Hi all,
We need to do some painting across the car wash (mainly on steel but also some bricks). I got a painter in and he wants to shut down our car wash for four (4) days!!! as the paint needs drying, can't paint on water, and so on...and so on...
Of course I understand this but I also told him that he can't take a cruise ship out of the water just to do some simple maintenance work. So something "marine" would probably be the way to go. What is your experience? What do you use? Thanks.
 
We used epoxy (very bright white) from Sherwin Williams. Closed one bay at a time to allow for cleaning, drying , painting and drying. The real challenge was the one auto bay. We did that early in the week with rain in forecast. We were able to close the garage doors and use the heat as needed. I had to find a painter that was ok scheduling the job this way.
 
Whatever you do, DON'T use oil based paint. You will never get everything completely dry and whatever residual water is left will repel the paint and it will peel in short order. We have painted four washes over the years, did everything the pros told us to do, only to have terrible to lackluster results. Latex worked the best, but all that being said, I would never paint another wash. SS car washes and paint don't mix.
 
I like the epoxy from Sherwin. Used it on my shop floor and I get a lot of Oooos and Aaaahs. With paint, the prep is everything. I find it usually takes about 3 hours of prep for every hour of painting. And with paint you can bring out your creative inner self.
 
So just out of curiosity, how do you know that? Have you tried it? I know that it wouldn't last forever, but 5 minutes?
 
We use Sherwin Williams, I think its now called Resilliance. It used to be MAB SeaShore white. Lasts us about 3-4 years, holds up well to NuWall and is a brilliant white paint. reasonably priced, especially if you can get a vendor account setup with SW.
 
So my question is did you actually do an application or witness one? Or is this just your normal reaction to new technology? I would really like to know.
 
MEP001 is right it won't last in a car wash environment, I just spoke with the Sales Rep from the Company and they do not recommend this product for car washes because of the Chemicals and if water is constantly sprayed on their product it wears down faster, I am ordering some anyways for some other applications I can see this stuff to be very effective at.
