What’re yall using for an air compressor?

Bought a used Champion Pump. I bolted it atop the old tank. It's been running for years with just oil changes.

Get a Quincy or Champion pump. Get a good motor, and bolt it all on........

BTW, slower is better.

Cheap motors run at 3450. Get a 1725 rpm or slower.
 
Lot of reports out there that the new Quincy compressors are not what they used to be. Same with the IR compressors. Seems like luck of the draw maybe.

For SS, harbor freight oil lubed works fine, setup a hot spare like Wyatt said, and you have an almost bullet proof air system.
 
I'll throw this out there and see if it sticks to the wall....I have an OLD Campbell Hausfeld 80 gallon that was at the wash when I bought it. That was over 14 years ago....Who knows how old it is...One thing I did along the way was to change the on/off pressure so it didn't make so much heat and water...Factory on the switch is set to on at 100 and off at 125....The most pressure I use is 60psi for the flojets...So I adjusted the pressure switch to come on at 80 and off at about 100psi...Now I only have to drain the tank about once a year and only get about a gallon of water. And only have to drain the water seperator once a year...The higher the pressure, the more heat you make and moisture...And the lower pressure at start is way easier on the motor and pump...For me its been a win/win....And BTW, my flojets stay happy happy happy running with drier air! I looked today and my fb flojet is 6yo...Its a no brainer to make sure you also have NO Air Leaks!
