What software problems do you just work around instead of fixing?

for anyone running a wash — POS, membership app, chemical/site monitoring, whatever you use day to day — is there something you've had to build a workaround for, or just gave up on and do by hand, because the tool you're using doesn't handle it well?


not asking about big picture "what's broken in the industry" stuff, more like: something specific that's actually cost you time or money, that you've either patched together yourself or just accepted as "that's how it is."


trying to understand where the real gaps are, not looking to sell anyone anything, just curious what people are actually dealing with day to day.

if there's software issue and the parent company is unwilling or incapable of fixing it, it's time to move to a different company who is able to provide alternative solution. way too many companies out there you can pick through. continuing to fund incompetent companies who dont care about the product they put out by creating workaround is disservice to the rest of us in the industry imho. just let it die.

right now i am watching drb turning into a dumpster fire outsourcing their level 1 and 2 support to india and letting washify rot in the corner, and wondering why people are still on those platforms.

That's the part I don't get either — if DRB and Washify are visibly struggling, what's actually stopping people from moving? Is it just the pain of migrating data/history, contract lock-in, or is there something specific those platforms do that nothing else replicates yet?
