We Found A Cheap & Effective Wall Cleaner

We stumbled upon a chemical to clean our bay walls and equipment with that is as effective as Nu Wall or Kleen Wall, but less than half of the cost. Go to your local Dollar Tree store and buy "The Works Disinfectant Toilet Bowl Cleaner" in the white 24 oz. jugs. Dump 6 of them in a garden sprayer and add 3 jugs of water (2:1 ratio). Take care in handling this stuff because at full strength it is a 20% solution of Hydrochloric Acid. The MSDS can be found online through Google.

Wear eye and skin protection and spray the walls down, then hit them with HP rinse. It cleans them as well as the commercial wall cleaners out there on the market. I know, I've tried them all!

The beauty in this approach is that each 24oz jug costs $1.00 + sales tax. I calculate that out to $5.57 per gallon with an 8% NYS sales tax, or $27.89 for a 5 gallon equivalent. Kleen Wall is $67.50 plus shipping for 5 gallons. I've cleaned the local Dollar Tree store out of the stuff so many times, they suggested I buy them in case lots online (Dollartree.com SKU#794693) and they are delivered for free to the local store the next day.

There are other Dollar stores like Family Dollar and Dollar General in our area, but I have not found any of them for $1.00 each, like the Dollar Tree. Some are as high as $1.89 + tax. Just thought I would share this cost saving tip with all of you! This forum has saved me so much money over the years, it's nice to give back!

ps. In case you're wondering, I do not own stock in Dollar Tree! LOL
 
It is the same thing i stumbled upon this week, i bought it to clean a stool at an apt, and at the wash was reading the label, and thought i would try it on my vectors stop n go lights-- cleaned the scum off almost instantly, and turned the wall behind it white, but as i got a smell of it, it almost dropped me to the ground. I can't imagine using it indoors, but good at the wash.
 
FWIW, I've stopped using a sprayer with Klean Wall and now apply it with an old foam brush. I would have to mix three quarts of Klean Wall with 1 3/4 gallons of water to clean one wall ( a little weaker than 1:2) when using a sprayer, but mixing one quart of Klean Wall with three quarts of water and applying it with a brush not only worked better but I cleaned another half a wall.
 
Will this mixture harm Extrutech Wall Panels or Painted Block? My Wall Panels are in need of cleaning...I've tried presoak and bleach mixed with water and neither works. Just want to make sure the Hydrochloric Acid in this product is safe for the vinyl Panels and painted block. Thanks for the tip!
