Washworld Razor spitting presoak! Help!

Washworld Razor: anyone have (or had) issues where the presoaks and low pressure functions are spitting the product out, not evenly coating the car? Running into that issue and have been for a while. Lowering air to 38psi when ideally it should be around 60psi.



Tech support is already looking into it. Figured I’d ask the car wash community.

that’s usually something simple like an air valve. If its the air for all functions that should make it easier to trace.
 
Check to be sure you have no ball valves partially closed that provide the primary air to the electronic regulator, I would set the pressures the same across all the functions then take the airline off the top of each solenoid and test each function to see if the air pressure changes between each solenoid. Do you have hyperflex if so is it happening on that as well?

No hyperflex. All ball valves are wide open.
 
Could be a clogged/ bad injector. Take the colored tip out and run test wash pass Lp1 and Lp2 and see if it sucks chemical and clears.

Steve, when I watch the video of your Razor on youtube, I see it doing the same thing during the second presoak application around 1:45.
It's not as nearly as noticeable as mine. I'll work on getting a video uploaded to share.
 
The Presoak solenoid de-energizes on the way back up the Passenger side towards the home position. There may be a way to turn that feature off.

I don't see any options to turn that off, I believe the reason they have the solenoid de-energize and the air stays on is to help clear the supply line to the arch for the next chemical.
 
Ok, so making some headway. We moved to a larger injector which seems to of fixed the problem. Washworld kept asking about flow. I noticed this. We're using hyper concentrates. Using lean tips or orange and up. The gray injector is where the problem began. But, if I dropped to a brown or red tip, the problem dissipated. So, we used a lime injector (.098) and the problem is now gone. Good draw on the chemical and presentation looks better. Will monitor and report back.

Always check injector first if you are getting plenty air and not enough chemicals as i stated above. Works 99.99% of the time. Happy you got it working!
 
By increasing the size of the injector you are now adding more water to the chem/water ratio which can have an adverse effect on cleaning performance.

(Gray Injector) 0.83 is 2.00 GPM
(Lime Injector) 0.98 is 3.25 GPM

Update: Lime injectors have fixed the problem. Presoak looks incredibly better and is performing better too.
 
Have you titrated the chemicals LP1 and LP2 to make sure they are strong enough or are you using High Ph for both passes?.
 
How is the performance/cleaning so far, I'm considering doing the same to my Razor as I've been noticing the same thing lately in my presoak application.
 
So the injectors were stepped back down to the original ones. I think the blue ones. We're still spitting badly so we had to lower the air to 48-51psi, especially on the high Ph. We've even experimented with some other soap vendors and the issue remains. I welcome any insight or input from you too.

looking at this thread you had mentioned previously that you had sized up the injectors. You have now stepped back down to the original size. How come? What brand of chemical are you currently running? I would reach out to Washworld Tech Support and see if they can help get you dialed in.
 
Honestly, I think the whole delivery system should be revamped on the Razors instead of having all the presoak products going through one pipe it should be like the Ryko Radius through a separate pipe on the arch.
