I am in the process of building out my Profile Max and have added all the options including foam n flow, power tower, tri foam, spectra ray, and so on but am having trouble justifying the add on of the touchless power wheel detailer at the $20k+ price. My question is do you think the combination of the power tower and the side brushes will already do an adequate enough cleaning for the rim and tire? And also with people who do have the power wheel detailer do you think your customers would notice/care if you had the power wheel detailer or not? Any thoughts or opinions is appreciated :)

If you have a competitive market I would load up the machine with every option you can get. Any advantage you can get over the competition will be a benefit.
Having said that, don't get the FoamNFlow if you can get Hyperflex. I can NEVER get the application consistent. I took the plate off of some of my machines and just use it like a Rain Bar. If you have HyperFlex you will get better chemical coverage than the FoamNFlow

Good advice from Eric H. Maybe not getting the foam and flow will somewhat offset the price of wheel detailers. However, regarding wheel cleaning - if you are going to rely on the tower power and side brushes only, make sure you are still applying a good high pH wheel cleaner to maximize the effect of those two pieces of equipment.

Oh for sure! I was thinking of getting the big shot add on which is a wheel and tire chemical applicator right after the power tower which I believe is only a couple thousand compared to the $20k price tag of the power wheel detailer.

I hate my power towers on my Profile they installed them too far back so the brushes wouldn't catch them and they did when we moved them closer so we had to move them back. I visited a site with Power Towers and the Big Shot, the amount of water from the PT's crippled the effectiveness of the chemical and the speed of the customer needs to be taken into account as well, where the wheel detailer option being yes it's $20k my next profile system is going that route.

Can you use the big shot to put the wheel and tire chemical in and let the detailer wash it off? Is the big shot a drive by application or is it machine applied?

If I may ask how long is your bay size for them to have the issue with your machine potentially hitting the power towers?

My bay is 48' x 16'
your bay is 48 feet long and your distributor had trouble fitting your power towers and profile in that big of a bay? I thought profile only needed a 37 foot bay minimum? heck I am trying to fit a profile in my 34 foot long bay... granted my distributor said he done it before and itll work but well see his plan and decide from there if I want to to try that or just go with the smaller LXR profile system that should fit.

If you place the power towers too close to the guidelines customers use for entering the bay the Razor arm will have an issue and get stuck on the tower nozzles if you have an extended bed truck. We made the mistake placing them close to the vehicles near the entrance and in line with the UC in a 40' bay and had to move them back several inches so the arm would not catch the tower when we wash a F350/Ram3500 or an extended bed truck. They still work fine at the greater distance. The closer distance ready made the customers notice them but no one complained or noticed after we moved them back a bit.

I saw videos of your profile max and it looks super cleannn... I did see you did not have the power wheel detailer installed and was wondering if you had any complaints from customers for dirty wheels or if your prices are cheaper because you do not have a dedicated wheel cleaner. If you may could you list your wash packages, what they include, and your pricing for your profile max? Super clean profile max you have there and hopefully mine will be just like yours.

I honestly regret not getting the power wheel detailer yes it was $20k BUT yes, I do get some customer who say it's not nearly as powerful as my Razor Bay mainly because we placed them closer in then the profile.

$10 Bronze: Foam Bath, 1 brush pass, spot free rinse
$12 Silver: Foam Bath, 1 brush pass, drying agent, spot free rinse, dry
$14 Gold: Underbody wash with side blasters, Tri Color Foam Bath, 2 brush passes, drying agent, spot free rinse, dry
$16 Platinum: Underbody wash with side blasters, Tri Color Foam Bath, Super Suds Foam Bath, 2 brush passes, Foam n Flow Lava Carnauba Wax, Ceramic Rain, spot free rinse, dry

All washes come with a $2 buy up for Bug a Salt.

The Power Towers need to be closer to the vehicle otherwise they are worthless in cleaning anything.

Steve, when I visited a site with the Profile and Power Towers they had the UC and Towers really close to the front of the bay so they could get the towers closer to the cars without the risk of the brushes catching on them. You have a 48' bay, I would think you could get them close to the entrance and entering cars.
