Just revamped a wash here in SE PA.. we made changes to the wand holders to really make it more conveniant for customers to put the wands back and use the J hooks for the hose.. So far it has worked oit great -a concern however that we didn't think about when we installed them in 90 deg weather was freezing - The old units were straight up and down - we never had issues - now we angled a piece of pvc coming from the floor pipe as shown in the picture.. just concerned about long cold days.. has anyone had experience in this? What are your thoughts?

It seems to me if you have a problem you can take off your union and just let it spray onto the floor at that angle.
I had 2 washes (15 bays ) with the gun holders angled.
The only deference I see is that I had the gun tip angled away from the coin box area and it looks like you have the tip angled toward the box.
If that is the case I would be concerned that the customer removing the gun from the holder at startup and putting the gun back in the holder when their finished might spray toward the coin/bill/CC box which might cause other issues.

My wash was built with the wand holders like yours. Only I have black flexible pipe/tube going into the floor from the holder. 3rd winter here and never had a issue.

Mine look exactly like the one in your picture. I dont think the angled design has had any effect on freezing.

I've always mounted wand holders pointing toward the box. Customers spraying the box while removing the wand is not a concern. The boxes get wet when they're spraying the hood, roof and trunk.
I mount them pointing away from the entrance (if there is one) to minimize wands getting broken from people snagging the hose on their mirrors.
I don't see how angling the holder will have any effect on water freezing inside the holder or pipe.
