Vendor Should be on a Separate Circuit

We have just been advised by our manufacturer that each vendor should be plugged into a dedicated power source just for the vendor. The electronics in the machine are very sensitive to transients created by different motors starting up and stopping. We suggest that you also add a surge suppressor in the power souce to take care of electrical power surges and lightening strikes from storms passing through.

This is a timely post for me.

Last weekend my cleanup guy set off the alarm but did not call me or the alarm company to let us know. I rushed down there and found nothing wrong. I was just about to leave when I heard a VERY loud BOOM. Two of the high voltage wires that supply the industrial buildings in my area came down for no apparent reason. 3 hours later they had the power back on. I did a quick check of the wash and went home. Today, 4 days later, I found that the pricing for the entire vendor was set for $199.99 and the bill acceptor was de-programmed. I don't know if it was a power surge that cleared the memory or if there is a dead battery in the machine but I reprogrammed it and it is fine now.
