What type of wire is used in vacuums? Is it tew, mtw, awm. Also what size would it be 14, 16, 18?

what size vacuum motors you have and how many= determine how many amps they pull when running determine wire size. try to read the watts or amps on the motor data plate. and what size is your breaker inside the electrical panel.

Using Lamb 119414 x 2 on each vac, they don't list the watts on the motor. I am using a 20 amp breaker, there is only #16 wire coming out of the motors so i can't imagine they are drawing much amperage, I'm talking about the type of wire that is used on the vac itself, not the wiring to the vac.

Actually i was wrong, the leads off the motor are #18. I know the vac wire is quite small, figured it was probably #16, but I was more curious about the type of wire used as stated in the original post.
