Is this a J. E. Adams vacuum that Magic Wand re-branded? I just picked two up, and they both have their coin boxes locked. The face plate fell forward on the one in the picture. So, that's basically the only thing I have open at this point. I don't have the keys to anything. Is there an easy way to get these open without having the keys? I know I'm asking a question that might require a PM. They obviously aren't installed, and I could run one by a locksmith...but I was going to see if there was a DIY route on this one?

They're IVS vacs rebranded. You might try calling them with the serial number and see if they'll send you a key, but the locks may have been changed.

Wow, I have no advice on this one, but that'll be a booger to get into. Have you tried all your keys for that type of lock? Perhaps you'll get lucky and have the right one? Are you near the KC area? I could run by with my keys for you to try too, lol.

Thanks for that offer...and TX here. :) I think I'm going to appreciate the vacuums as soon as I can get them open. I'll try calling IVS with the numbers I see written insde of the face plate...and then try Istobal USA if that doesn't help. I know it's possible for the locks to have been changed, but not likely...since they were only installed for 2 years. Do you think the locks on the face plates match the locks for the coin drawers? If so?...maybe I'll just take that opened lock to the locksmith. They look like great vacuums though. My J.E. Adams are old and still working everyday. They have made it through numerous break in attempts, but I jumped at the opportunity to upgrade to something a lot less tired looking. The extra filters and two service doors look great, but I guess most manufactures are doing that now. Thank you all for your advice, and letting me know what I have.

IVS and Istobal USA were both friendly, but they said those records were lost when the companies sold. I guess I'm back to the drawing board...and possibly a locksmith.

The locks on the faceplate are cam locks. The ones for the drawers are WB pinlocks. They don't even take the same type of key.

Geez, don’t drill a hole up from the bottom. Drill out the lock, it can be done pretty easy. I’m not going to post on the Forum how to do it, but think about it and you’ll see how easy it is.
