Vacuum damage

Noob

Someone backed into one of my vacuums. Surprisingly the vacuum itself has almost no cosmetic or mechanical damage. The only thing that appears to be damaged are the mounting brackets under the vacuum. They got bent up pretty badly. What’s my best course of action? Cut the old brackets off and have some new ones welded on?

If you can’t straighten them out enough to hold the vacuum down then yes, cut off and weld on new brackets.
If you should also plan to purchase new plastic covers for the access holes. I’ve damaged the covers removing vacuums and if you can’t get a good seal it reduces suction.
