vac odors

i recall reading somewhere on the forum a list of suggestion as to how to make the vacs smell fresher. i think one of the examples was hanging the little trees air freshners inside the vacs where the filters are, spraying with fabreeze, etc. can someone direct me to this info. thanks

Just clean them. The smell comes from the crap that people have vacuumed up.

Pat, we tried masking the problem with air fresheners but it did not prove to be a long term solution. Now we clean them (bags,trays and inside) with water and bleach and it really keeps us ahead of the smell problem.
