Unitech Pay Station II Displays

I just bought a car wash and I am working on getting it cleaned up and repaired - it has not seen maintenance in years. For the IBA I have a Unitech Pay Station II. The displays are barely readable. I have new display windows ordered which will help during the day. I realized there does not seem to be any backlighting at night. Has anyone run into this? I am not sure if there is a setting to turn backlighting on? Or do I need to replace the LCD boards too?

First- look at https://rdm.net/ for your unitec parts for big savings.

The backlighting is built into the displays and just may not be connected. Take a closer look at each display and you will see two wires coming out. This should be connected to the I/O board. If they are all burned out it's going to likely be more economical to swap in your I/O board with RDM, which will run about $500.

I see you have already ordered the windows but I just get a plain piece of UV resistant lexan and seal it to the unit with silicone. It's very economical.

I have had the same issue, and it has been the wire connector on the board on the door in the lower left corner. Check at night and if dim move the plug on the board and see if the display flickers. If there is no lights all make sure all wire are connected into plug. These wires flex every time the door in opened and closed and mine have broken where they are inserted into the plug.
