Truck wash ticket average

I was wondering if anyone that owns a self serve truck wash knew how much time a trucker typically spends to wash his truck? Specifically, how much time for the truck only and how much for a trucker and trailer together?

I’m building a wash that has a couple dedicated truck bays and I’m considering doing something I haven’t seen done before. I’m contemplating doing a membership program for truckers. For example $99 a month for a specified amount of time in the bay per day.

Knowing the average time it takes to wash a truck and a truck with its trailer would help with pricing a trucker membership program.

Thank you

I had a truck bay at one of my washes that I sold. Very typical for the drivers to come in and get $20 worth of qtrs and use all of it up in the bay. This was just to clean the tractor not even touching the trailer. Hope this helps.

Ill be watching this thread because I have been contemplating extending a bay for trucks at one of my washes.

Thanks for the reply. I have a regular wash that sometimes gets trucks (tractor only) and they typically spend $30-$60.

I have a 2IBA/5SS with 14ft clearance bays. Ive closed off the first three bays with clearance bars to 8ft. The truckers absolutely destroy the bays with grease. I would not give them any incentive to wash with you. Most likely you will be the only one that can fit them anyway so they have no choice. If it wasn't for the RV guys or enclosed trailers I would have limited those two bays also. My walls are painted bottom half blue and top half yellow. Every location I only paint the blue every summer but at that one for those two bays I have to paint the top half because of all the grease splattered everywhere. I also change hoses and brushes out way more frequently because of the trucks and grease.
