Treadle Switch Design

Hey All,

Our in-bay automatic has a single tape 32"x5" treadle switch that activates the wash cycle when the front tires of the car touch the switch. We are having issues where customer's cars may not land directly on that switch causing the wash to time out. I'm considering having the treadle switch bracket redesigned and adding two treadle switches that would cradle the customer's tire. So....basically two points of contact to help better position the car on the switch. I've attached some pictures of the design that I'm considering. I received these from a friend who works in automation. He looks the pics from a carwash in a neighboring state. I believe this may be a Superwash design.

My question for forum members is, does anyone else use a switch like this and is there anything else I should consider when doing this?

Our old Super Wash bay that we tore out and all the other Super Washes I have seen have a trough poured into the concrete floor that the tire dropped down into.
 
I have one auto that still uses treadle plates. It has a ramp in the front and one the back to keep cars from rolling of the treadle. It has worked well for me.
 
ONe contact switch. Originally it had a tall stop in front of the treadle plate. I had a plate with a 1 inch riser made to bolt behind the plate so the vehicle drives over the back plate and falls down into a channel with the treadle plate on the bottom.
 
You need to just add two sets of photo eyes and few relays to create a virtual treadle. Get rid of the floor treadle. What model control panel is on your typhoon? Does it have a DTAM or Red Lion HMI? Im assuming a DTAM.
