Too many options?

What are some reasons why it wouldnt work? Id like to try and solve this issue, or atleast find a solution that works for me. I want to know some shortcomings of a system like this to get me ahead on my 1st version.
Adding some antifreeze ontop of blowing out seems reasonable. A 55gal drum of -55degree antifreez at menards right now is $165 without the 11% rebate.

Blow down systems rely on everything working perfect. Generally you have water that slowly makes its way through a pump, or a solenoid that doesn't close perfectly, or a bad check valve that allows water into the system and then it freezes. Weep is much more forgiving.

Other issue with blow down is keeping your foam brush head from freezing. Weep water keeps the bucket (and brush sitting in it) defrosted. Methanol is also an option (I prefer weep).

Even with no water in a system I have seen plenty of things flash freeze during startup when first exposed to water if its cold enough.

Adding anti freeze doesn't make it work, Companies tried that. There is bellies in the hose set ups where water gets trapped similar to a p trap whether its in a swivel or at a low point. Also air compressor discharge will contain water which does not help. You only need a little residual water to freeze and create a blockage on a hose with 1/4" or 3/8" ID. Once that blockage forms then the next person to wash will release water up until it then everything freezes to that point within an hour or two. Been there and done that with MANY customers who thought this was a good idea. Take my advice and scrap this idea and just use weep and/or methanol like everyone else does. Weep is the best way to keep anything from freezing even if you lose power.
