In the last 3 weeks I’ve gotten 9 calls for assistance from car wash operators from across the US and locally. These calls range from equipment room break-ins, lock drilling to having there changer pulled out of the wall. One operator told me that he had all of his coin boxes drilled out in one night. When I asked him when was the last time they pulled the money his reply was the day after Thanksgiving, they only pull their money once a month, dumb just plain dumb. No video, no alarm. Another operator called me yesterday and wanted to know how to drill out a Medeco lock. He proceeds to tell me that he got broken into and they got all of his keys and the 2 week bank deposit that was lying next to his keys on the work bench, dumb, really dumb. Don’t leave your keys or a lot of cash at the car wash, your just asking for trouble. By not having a basic alarm, video system and not pulling your money often you’re letting the thieves know that when they hit the next car wash they are going hit the mother lode again. This happens every year around the holidays.
