Tire Shinner in Touchless

In Bay Tire Shine

Looks interesting... their spec sheet makes not mention of the requirements for installation, I would be interested in seeing the minimum bay length.

The wash select 2 should allow the upsell,... The real question would be whether or not your automatic will allow the upsell

I don't think any touchless IBA will clean a tire well enough to apply tire shine without making a mess. Even a friction IBA - if it does not have specific tire brushes and a good chemical, the tires will end up with a brown sludge on them.

I have only seen tire shine units effective in tunnel/hand wash applications where the tire is scrubbed clean prior to application of the product.

Just my thoughts.

If done properly with good results, that could be pretty sweet. I would personally want to see one in action and different tire heights before I got serious, but it's a novel idea for sure.

I have done a number of sites with the Motor City Super Shiner and love it. I also did one Simoniz unit. The Motor City is a lot better. I charge $10 for my SoftGloss with tire shiner top wash. It's my most popular wash package. It's a nice way to compete with tunnels. I also offer free vacuum with all of my rollover wash packages. The Standard changer and American changer paystations both can kick out a bonus token for vacuum.

I bet if you downstreamed a good tire cleaner into some gatlin guns or similar you'd get tires plenty clean for dressing.

The Motor City Super Shiner looks just like the Belanger unit, but cheaper. Will check it out!

Thanks...Big

The Motor City Shiner Unit looks real simple, pneumatic (not hydraulic). So it only requires 110V & air. The equipment room stuff looks like some simple controls, a couple of flowjet pumps.

Motor City is a company that is being run by people that use to be with Belanger. More than likely you will never see Motor City advertising on the Forum.

We serviced a super busy gas station ,tunnel, dual g5,selfserve. location just up the road from Gillette Stadium In Mass. talk about traffic count. they had the sonny's tire shine set ups in their extra long bays with the g5's that was 5+ years ago. and I remember him saying it was the best thing he ever did.
