We have been using a water base tire shine with a cloth brush. We are considering using a bristle brush, and wondering what is the best chemical to apply. Anyone using the bristle brush with a water base Armorall/Tire Wet type?

When we switched to a brush style tire shiner we also switched to a solvent based tire shine as suggested by some other operators. We are using about 10 mls per car and getting very good results. Because of the minimal usage and the brush applicator, we get almost no buildup on the driveway. I haven't used a waterbase product with this unit so I can't compare.

We have been using a solvent based tired dressing with a bristle brush applicator for the last 2 years in our express exterior facility. We use Blue Coral Black Magic tire dressing. It gives a great shine and last a long time. The only problem that we see is if there is too much product applied, then the dressing slings up on to the side of the vehicle. And because it is solvent based, it takes more effort to wipe it off. So we have some customers that have complained about that. On our full service side, we use a water based product and do not have the same problem at all. But the shine does not last nearly as long.
