Received eight voicemails and a couple emails saying there wasn't any pressure in the self service or the touchless. The 2" softener was dumping city water pressure out like a fire hydrant when I ran in to bypass it and all the resin is on the floor. 😄

Just speculating.

While I've never seen a media tank blown open, I have had premature resin failure due to heavy water hammer...all those tiny little beads fractured within a few months of installation.

The good thing is that the fix is not terribly difficult or expensive. I've not seen this happen before in my 25 years in the water treatment business. Those tanks, at least the tanks made in the USA have good warranties (e.g., 5 years). Check about shin high on that tank for a sticker showing the brand/manufacturer.
