My new vacs and vac island is underused due to them not being covered. I'm wanting to install one of those peacked-roof car dealership type awnings with the colored canvas roof. I've copied the same of several mfg from those at car dealerships, but every one seems to be out of business. Anyone know of any? And, is there some reason you wouldn't use one of these for a vac island awning? The obvious drawback is that it would be easy for some gang banger punk to jump up and slash it with a knife...

Red,

The good commercial awnings are typically made of something like "Sunbrella" material. That stuff will look good and last for years, but it is very very expensive. Recently I had a boat cover made for my 22"' boat and it was $2000 just for the material. For me to cover a vac area with two islands was about $25k in sunbrella, plus structure and labor.
