swipe and tap issues on the new heavy credit cards

I'm having an issue on my gold line cashier with crypto pay not recognizing those thick new metallic feeling credit cards. My Swiper and tap reader do not seem to want to recognize these thick metallic type cards. However, my credit card terminal in my detail shop will recognize them when I insert the chip to process the transaction. Anybody else experiencing these issues?

We have different readers, but I have seen lots of newer cards, metallic and plastic, that even if they look fine just don't read reliably, or sometimes at all. I wonder if they are made cheaper now, since tap is so common.

i have had issues over the last couple of years with the swipers not responding to them. just purchased tap plus units for all self service bays and will be doing away with the swipers within next couple of weeks, hoping all cards respond better. i really went back and forth deciding on whether to keep the swipers with tap, but decided against it. hoping the older people figure it out easily! i will update in a few months if this was a good decision

Got an amex platinum that is I believe made out of SS with a plastic backing for tap and never had no issues with cryptopay or any other readers. I use it to check tap/swipes when needed and also daily purchases. I also got a thick apple and wells fargo card with no issues. Probably not what you want to hear. Reach out to cryptopay if you haven't already and let them know. Maybe they know something we dont and/or can tweak settings.
