Steam in a cold bay

Does anyone use exhaust fans in their automatic bay to pull the steam from the hot water out of the bay in the winter. On a cold day it is difficult for a car to see where they are going when they drive into my automatic bay when the washes start stacking up.

I am in a very harsh climate, and had one exhaust fan. It brought in such cold air it produced Cold air fog which seemed alot denser than warm air fog and overspray. We bought some Hog barn fans(Ceiling Fans-Waterproof) that blow the air down into the concrete and condense it. Seems to work better for us.

You need air flow to know down the fog. Some heat with it helps. My wash has floor it which is supplemented with a fan coil. When it gets cold the fan coil runs non-stop and heat is added during the wash and 10 minutes after.

I just installed this waterproof ceiling fan from QC supply. It seem to work pretty well.

That s cool! The only place I have ever seen ceiling fans in a wash bay was at a Ryder truck wash!

How about turning on your blower/dryer while the undercarriage is on and the door is open?

did you buy a heated fan for taking care of this yet? I have a brand new radiator fan blower for this purpose I never used and would sell for about 1/2 of new price.

Since about 1991 we went with hot glycol in Trane unit heaters that we put in the bays. We have used photo cells --- when beam is broken by the fog it --- clears the air quickly with the warmed air. Cost of heating is a factor so just keeping the bay fog free & above freezing helps.
