could someone please tell me what software version is needed to add 3x foam to a laserwash 4000 with an a-4000 controller

You just add the Trifoam option number to your System Option number. Your Distributor may be able to help with this over the phone.

The Tri-foam option was introduced in revision 17.0 and the adjustment in the system option number would also be needed.
