Soft water for self serves?

Water softener went out and have been using only city water in the self serves, city water is at 5 grains.

Prior to this the entire self serve was ran on soft water including the high pressure rinse, how does everyone else do there self serves? Should I just stick to city water in self serve being I have pretty good water?

5 grains is pretty low. If you and your customers can't tell a difference and the bay walls don't get a grungy buildup, you're probably okay.

With 5 grains of hardness I wouldn't worry about Soft water. The water at my car wash the last time I tested it was 3 grains of hardness.
