I have gotten some pieces of spring in my spray nozzles . I think its was coming from my Danfoss Valves . Any ideas ? Rebuilt my Danfoss Valve seems to be ok .
It means you have a Cat 3535 before the updated head components design. Time for a rebuild. Those small springs break and then slide into the seals in the pump and cause them to fail. Need to update to the newer pump design. It uses large springs that surround the entire plunger.
We have done several while the pump is mostly in place. Only need to remove the head and leave the crankcase in place... Your distributor should be able to do it for you. If they can't... hmm.
I have had good luck with a company called IDS. They have done several 3535 heads for me. They machine out the heads and press fit stainless steel inserts.
If you have only noticed the springs pieces, but haven't had evidence of seal failure with reduced pressure, chatter, or water leaking, then I would bet that you won't need to sleeve the head - there will not be any damage. Acting soon is what prevents having damage to the head in most cases. All you should need is a seal kit and the parts from the service bulletin by cat regarding the new large springs, spacers, and adapters.
