slugbuster 11 or go with slugbuster 3

I have a total of 16 Slugbusters in use at wash. I also had 4 extra ones. The extra ones are now broken and
do not take quarters or tokens. The last time I sent one in for repair, the cost for this problem was $80.00 plus
shipping. Would it be better to repair or start buying the slugbuster 3's to also take the dollar coins. Also how
reliable are the 3's. The 2's have been good over the years.

I don't know if the problem has been corrected, but when I had SB IIs, they couldn't distinguish a dollar from a quarter.

I'm not a fan of Slugbuster for several reasons. I built the bay doors with SB II's and found out right after that they'd take the dollar coins as a quarter, and when I called to see what could be done I was told very curtly "You'll have to upgrade to Slugbuster III." I ordered IDX MA800 instead and moved all the Slugbusters to the vacs with a plate so dollar coins wouldn't fit. In the ten years since, I've only replaced/repaired three of those in the bays, and ALL of the Slugbusters in the vacs failed more than two years ago.

I wouldn't worry too much about replacing an acceptor to "take the dollar coins." Everything takes them, and I find an average of two a week.
