Shurvend & CryptoPay Tap+

Will this MDB CryptoPay tap plus reader work with a ShurVend?
Also, does anyone know the dimensions of the reader? Cut sheet says “small footprint”
I need it to fit in this hole!IMG_2160.jpeg

A TapPlus is : 3"L x 2.5"W x 1.5"D
The TapPlus has a pretty prominent light show, esp. at nighttime.
If it is compatible, I would recommend mounting it flush with the stainless, not in that recess because it will block the light feature.
my 2 cents

Edit to add: Just measured the hole. 4.25”h x 3.5”W. Looks like it will work.

This machine is on a turntable. The machine swivels into the equipment room so that it can be filled from inside. If I can mount the TAP+ in that recess I can mount it to the machine.
If it doesn’t fit in the recess I have to either cut a larger hole or mount the reader to the stainless steel faceplate and disconnect the reader ever time I move the machine.
Not an ideal option either way. I’m at over 70% credit card on this site. I know I am losing money by not having CC on the vendor. The vendor probably doesn’t ROI enough $$$ to bother but I have the machine and I want to continue to offer vending products to my customers. I suspect I’ll reluctantly eliminate cash for the whole site at some point.

Seems like the new cryptopay tap unit is a level 2 MDB which is the same as the old swiper. My vending machine was also an MDB 2, not a shurvend/AMS though so you might need to track down the owners manual or find out on here if anyone has the old or new swiper installed on theres.

What was in that hole to begin with? I'm sure you could recess the reader so that is flush with key pad etc. You'd have fabricate a mounting bracket but it can be done.

I was thinking that Cryptopay had a list of machines that they worked fine on. There's more to it than just the circuit board being an MDB II.
This machine is from 2004 but the circuit board was replaced within the past 5 years. I have to double check with AMS.
I also realized I need to add a swipes to my air machine. The thought of spending approximately $1000 to update the 2 machines that have the lowest ROI on the property is starting to lose its appeal

The way I look at putting readers on low volume machines is that they are spares that I have for the heavier usage machines. If there is ever an issue with the heavier usage readers, I'll take it from these lower use machines and install a temporary block off plate until I figure out the broken reader. The way I see it, I need spares no matter what, they are either sitting on the shelf or on a machine.
