Shield X

i have not tried Shield X but I have been using Kleenseal with teflon for the past few years in my SS. I saw the add on KR's site and it indicated that Shield X would have a blue color when applied. I do not like to apply colored products onto cars, esspecially when you get close to the final rinse. I think it is just inviting a colored product to run onto the car from the mirrors, jams, and other nooks and crannies during the air dry.
The Kleenseal goes on milky white. It will leave some light spotting if left on the surface but it is better than little blue colored spots.

I'm sure others will have differing opionions regarding visual appeal, and properly set up washes should sufficiently rinse mirrors and jams to avoid runout. This is just the way I do it.

BTW: kleenseal with teflon is actually made by Simonize. I do not know how close it is to Double Bond with Teflon.

I know you did not ask about this product, but JBS's Samurai Shield is great. I do not work for JBS and have no connection with them. In fact, I do not even use their full line of products - but I did post about this product before in the review section of the forum because I believe it is so good.

The shine is very noticeable and the water beading is fantastic. Cars dry very easily in the blowers, and you can see rain run right off every surface - paint and glass - and no streaks or smears either.

I'm not sure how Samurai Shield's price compares with Shield X, but it is about half the cost of Rain X and I can say it does perform as well as Rain X - I used it for a brief period of time.

I mention this product to you because you can purchase Samurai Shield from KR.

Price depends on amount used to get desired affect. For example, Kleenseal with Teflon is substantially less expensive per gallon than rainx. However, with my application, the rainx uses about 1/5th the amount needed for the kleenseal. So for my application, rainx is actually cheaper.
