Sealing splits in poly carbon roof panels

I was wondering if anyone has tried sealing a split in polycarbon panels (ceiling or wall) with either flex shot or some other waterproof sealant or maybe even tried plastic welding them. I'd like some feed back before I climb up on the roof.

Whatever patch material you consider, make sure the product does not contain a solvent.

Difficult to weld crack in polycarbonate panel because material is very hard but flexible until old and then more brittle.

Easier to replace.
