How do you price removal of tree sap and pine pitch at your detail shop?

The wet Summer and following hot spell caused ALOT of CARS to be covered and I intend to be properly paid for removal and re-waxing the vehicle.

I was thinking of an hourly shop rate plus the paste wax price.

Input?

Thank you.

This type of job is always somewhat tricky for me to estimate. Sap, tar, line paint, overspray etc can trip us up. What I do is this: Test a couple spots to get an idea of how difficult they will be to remove and what process it will take.
Then I estimate the time to remove all spots and multiply that by our hourly rate (a target rate) and add the cost of a our Wash and Wax service.

These jobs can be very labor intensive and I think I underestimate far too often. I am working on that :)

I think you got it

These are time intensive and tedious tasks, I definitley would base it on a hourly shop rate and estimate on the higher side. You can always come down on price, but good luck asking for more if you estimate low.
