RO System TDS PPM Shot up

Car Wash Man

Active member
In the last two months I noticed our PPM has gone up quite a bit for our RO system. We usually sat around 8-15. In the last couple months it has climbed up and is sitting around 36PPM. Kind of strange how fast it has gone up. Any advice? Membranes time to change??

Can someone educate me the differences between these two? I see they are different pressures. I have a sonys VROW-2 RO system with two membranes in this size membrane. Never dealt with RO membranes before so any help would be appreciated.

The main difference between the two RO membranes is the operating pressure they are designed for.
  • The low-pressure membrane is designed to operate at approximately 100 PSI.
  • The high-pressure membrane is designed to operate at approximately 225 PSI.

There is also a difference in the stabilized salt rejection rate:
  • Low-pressure membrane: 99.0%
  • High-pressure membrane: 99.5%

I am not familiar with the specifications of your RO system, so I cannot determine which membrane is appropriate for your application.
However, the RO systems supplied by Hanna Car Wash Systems operate at a maximum pressure of approximately 195 PSI, so we would select the low-pressure membrane for those systems.
