RO maintenance

Hello good people of ACF, I had this carwash for almost 9 month now and never done a maintenance on RO system. I got a ColemanHanna RO system (https://colemanhanna.com/wp-content...rse-Osmosis-Spot-Free-Installation-Manual.pdf). IS there any type of maintenance I need to do on this thing? Like chancing the charcoal filter? I do check the ppm every week and its pretty good. So I guess I shouldn't be messing around with it? You know don't fix it if its not broken???

The only maintenance is changing the prefilter. You also need to check it for flow rate and quality, as well as check for chlorine getting past the charcoal filter. As a general rule (assuming everything is sized correctly) you don't need to replace the charcoal unless you're changing the membrane.

The best "maintenance" is making sure you have soft water. Check it no less than once a week - every day would be even better because you can catch a softener issue right away. Test for chlorine once a week as well. I check for it in the RO reject because it will be concentrated there and easier to read.

You also want the pressures and flow rates correct so you're making plenty of product without wasting a lot of water or electricity.

It should be anywhere after the charcoal filter and before the membrane and pump. I like to have it before the solenoid to protect it from trash.
