Replaced Touch Free with Friction and added R/O waste collection to reuse in SS.

Not proven yet, but....we replaced our touch free with a much more water stingy friction machine. This improved wash quality and reduced water/sewer bill. Also, since the friction machine uses more spot free than the touch free, we installed a collection system (several 55 gallon plastic drums daisy chained together) and connected them on a gravity fed basis to our self serve holding tank.....so unless there is no by product water from the spot free, our self serve runs completely on water than was running down the drain.

I will update as time goes on with revenue:water/sewer expense ratio's.

But feel it will be a drastic improvement......hopefully!

Which friction car wash did you buy and why? Thanks.

I bought the an Autec AES 260 for many reasons. It cleans a great car and uses much less water, electricity and chemicals to do so. It is hydraulically driven, which means I don't have to get my Phd in electrical engineering to fix it. It is manufactured in state so if my distributor does not have the part, I can drive to the manufacturer and pick it up on a Friday afternoon. Also my local distributor is 15 minutes from my site and they are very reasonable.
Hope this helps!

Reusing R/O water

Hi John,

I would be glad to draw you a diagram. Send me your email address, or give me a call. My phone number is 336-688-5632. It was very easy to do, did not cost much money and have saved me thousands in water and sewer bills.

Regards,

Craig
