regulator vs. mini-regulator

What is the difference between the two? My fb chemical regulator is leaking like a sieve but I'm not sure what I need to order. It's on a JC Supersaver bench and the opening is 1/2". Any suggestions?

Is it on a Procon pump? I have the best luck using a high-pressure regulator like an Adams 7085 bypass regulator. Instead of the pump putting its full pressure against a regulator it only runs it at the pressure you need, and it's very accurate and reliable. The trick to making it work right is cutting about 1/4" off the spring so you can adjust the pressure low enough.
 
I tried to edit my previous post but apparrently I don't know how. I think maybe it is a procon pump. It uses an electric motor.
I put the calipers on the threads coming out of mine and they are 1/2". I don't see a 1/2" mini on the KR site but I do see one that's not a mini. Again it's on a JC bench. Do I need to look somewhere else for the 1/2" mini. That is what the size designation is referring to, right?

I am not sure I am reading your post right but if you used a caliper then 1/2" OD would actually be closer to 1/4" pipe & probably 1/4" NPT threads.

I agree with MJW. If it measures 1/2" at the threads it is most likely 1/4" pipe. I just went out and measured both sizes. 1/4" is right at 1/2" and 3/8" about 5/8". I know it doesn't make sense to you, but that's the way it is.
 
Yes Randy told me the same thing. I guess that's why I buy the wrong thing every time I go to Lowes. I should be able to get a 1/4" regulator at Graiger tomorrow I hope. Thanks
 
Yes, Jimmy it is a 1/4" regulator. if it's on the chemical side you can bypass it entirely if you need to. You can adjust pressure on the procon or the rotoflow pump. You only HAVE to have a regulator on the air side.

Do these things have a "born on " date like Budweiser? 2 months ago I didn't know what these things were called. Now I've changed 3 since Dec.
